Ole ball game.

Today I plan to ruin a wonderful evening by spending it under the Dome to see the Twins play the White Sox.

The Metrodome IMHO is one of the worst places to watch a baseball game. Its not the venue, It can get louder than any outdoor stadium I've ever been to with half the crowd size, Its not being under the Sun or stars that kills me. Baseball was meant to be enjoyed in the open air.

My first trip to the Dome was last year to see my home team the Orioles play the Twins. During the 4th inning I left to find the dreaded 'smokers spot'. As I wondered around looking for a place to enjoy a smoke I came upon a row of many glass doors. Behind these doors were the multitudes of banished smokers, aquarium like, nervously sucking down the remnants of their tobacco while the non-smoker passers by glanced. There happened to be one open door due to the unseasonable temps. It so happened that this was all the way at the end of the door bank farthest from me. "Why walk 20 yards when there is a perfectly serviceable glass door next to me" was my last thought as I proceeded to open the door only to have the strongest wind I have ever experienced hit my back. All of a sudden there were people screaming and yelling. Cigarettes flying. Smallish women smokers hitting the pavement. I thought tornado and covered my head as I hit the ground from the blast.

Turns out to my drunken embarrassment that this infernal dome is held aloft by the air and I disrupted the vacuum.

EDIT: We had great seats on the third base side only to see the Twins get hammered by the Sox for a share of first place.

This is the first song on our new album

So begins an exciting journey into the realm of cyberspace. My bags are hastily packed and my traveling finery wrinkled. Will my ideas fly? Will my theorems hold weight? Time can only tell. Welcome to Vindication! Departures to the left. Arrivals on the right.
